For security reasons, I have been trying to eliminate the broadcasted SSID from my wireless router. My laptop, with XP, handles the change without any problem, and my son's Apple does as well, but I haven't been able to get my Toshiba e755 Pocket PC to accomodate it.

It's looking to me as if Pocket PC 2003 just doesn't have the capability to deal with this setup, but hoping that I'm just missing something. I will welcome any recommendations to resolve the problem, or put it to rest as something I will have to do without.

Well, I guess I can answer myself on this subject. Since encountering and reporting the problem a few days ago, I had removed the Boingo Web sniffer, and vxutil applications from my PPC. I went back in today to try again, and voila, it works no problem.

I have gone through several cycles of browsing, wireless synchronization, and soft resets. Looks good so far, so I guess PPC 2003 can actually accomodate the unbroadcast SSID after all. When in doubt, just keep trying stuff.

FYI.....I have an iPAQ h5555 and a LINKSYS WAP11 AP and I do the same: NO SSID and MAC FILTERING........................

.................works great. I also have VXUTILITIES on it as well.

I use STATIC IPs however, and find that using wirless DHCP mngmt on my iPAQ seems to take a while before it will aquire a signal.
