Just bought a Dopod, it didn't come with an English User Manual which I am looking for. Went on Dopod's sight and their downloads arn't active. Can anyone help me find one.

Also, I have an email that I give out for business but it really points to another email.(any email that my current server supports but for reasons of consistency I always want it to appear unchanged) On my Dopod, only the real email address receives mail, not the "dummy" address even though I have it pointed correctly and it works fine on my desk and laptop. Any reason why the pocket pc should be different?

Many thanks,

oz

What Dopod site are you visiting, and what Dopod model have you got?

The e-mail should work as in your desktop. You create a new account and enter the e-mail address you want used when in the from: address when sending out messages. The next configuration (user name, password, e-mail server) should be the ones for the actual mailbox receiving the messages.

I was sent a user manual from an admin person at www.dopod.com

Using a 818 pro. I have set up the email properly, but can only retrieve mail from my main email account, not the others that point to it.???

First let us know how your e-mail works... If all new e-mails are forwarded to the same single account then you just need to have that single catch-all account on your Pocket PC.

If the e-mails are not being forwarded then you need to create an account for each on your Pocket PC.

It doesn't sound like the e-mails are being forwarded to that main account, but something else is being done.

Thanks for the reply. Took me a while to get back. Yes I have set it up properly, exactly the same way as my laptop, except the smtp setting which I was told by my cell phone provider to enter their parameters, not my internet providers'. Failling to do so disallowed me to send. Unfortunatley, I have stumped everyone with respect to my problem. Lots of viewers - any takers on providing a solution?

This is what is strange: if it's in the same way as the laptop, your device should receive all e-mails.

This is only true though if all e-mails end up in the same account in the same server.

I asked before how is your e-mail delivery configured. Are these forwarded to a single account on a single server, or is the e-mail client on your laptop polling many different accounts and then showing all e-mails in the same list?
