Got rid of my iPhone 3GS the other day and got a HTC HD2 (T-Mobile version)...

I gotta say very happy, has a few issues all related to windows mobile 6.5 but have ironed most of them out myself with custom ROM's.

The screen is amazing, huge and much clearer than the iPhone, I was a bit hesitant about the camera as i heard it wasnt as good even though its a 5.0Mpx but its way better than iPhone.

Battery life is about the same

Only thing i can say i better about the iPhone would be, 1. the music player (one would expect that) and 2. the full screen keyboard is a LITTLE better on iPhone.

Anyone else have one of these with any cool tips or tricks??

Personally I would not have bothered with HD2 since Windows phone 7 launches in another 3 days and releases in NZ most likely on 21st October.

I am assuming you prob have signed up on xda-developers and downloaded the ROM of your personal liking from there?

Do whatever you want to do man.

Great phone, I had one for about 4 months from its release (only very good phones last me that long!). I'd take it over a the new Windows Phone 7 handsets any day, it can boot into Android, you can tweak the heck out of it, and you'll probably be able to boot into WP7 before long too...

NZ more than likely will be the first country in the world to sell wp7 on 21st october. Telecom is more than likely going to sell it initially followed by vodafone shortly after.

Yea awesome, i have had Android running on it only issue i had was the data connection i couldnt figure out how to get it working, but other than that it was fantastic. really fast. Im using the latest "energy" ROM and its awesome way faster than the factory one.

Also polished the rear cover like i saw on another forum, looks awesome

I currently have the Telstra HTC HD2 Runnying Dutty's N4S Legacy Cont. (V3) 5.2.23139 [WWE], it's an addaption from his Creme de la Creme series, Dutty's ROM's are very stable and pretty close to stock.

I would prefer Android over WP7 at the mo, but would have to see and test it on the HD2 first, just don't know about the sliding panel thing and how customised it can be, Android would give me everything, can't wait to see a NAND version.

Are there many people with the HD2 in NZ, if so what network works better? I live in Perth now and have been using my HD2 on both 3 Mobile and now Vodafone.

Cheers

Jace

Wow, this baby's got a huge screen. I'm a big fan of large screen phones.
