Hello,
I have an HP iPAQ 3955 PDA. I would like to use the pocket pc option with SKYPE but SKYPE only works on pdas that are running the 2003 version of windows. HP have told me windows2003 for the ipaq 3955 is no longer available. Does anybody know where in NZ I would be able to source this upgrade option? alternatively does windows mobile 2003 work with the ipaq3955. Thanks

I bought the upgrade for my HP iPaq h3970 (a couple of years ago) from ascent.co.nz. As indicated by HP, this is no longer listed on-line.

HP makes these upgrades only available for a short period of time.

Thanks,

I have tried Ascent and most other resellers in NZ without luck. Do you have any other suggestions as to where I might buy this upgrade? I've even tried trade me without luck.
Alternatively does Windows mobile 2003 support the ipaq 3900 series? I'm really annoyed with HP, the only comments they have had are that the 3900 is out of warranty so there's nothing I can do for windows 2003 except buy a new pda. I'm sure they must have access to the original Windows 2003 pocket pc, they would obviously prefer me to buy a new PDA.

I only know of Ascent. HP does not sell this directly. As I posted, HP only had this for a limited time, so you might not find this anywhere.

I remember there was a pirate copy floating around - do not install that! You will end up with a brick, with Bluetooth and some other things not working - apparently the leaked version was a beta test without some drivers.

Yes, the h39xx series had a Windows Mobile 2003 upgrade, I bought one for my h3970...
