I followed your guide for PPC 2003 how to install BT and get internet to the Ipaq via a computer with BT and internet connection

For starters, i want to share with me my config as of now

ADSL modem, connected to a router, my computer is connected to the router and
is useing a STATIC ip, 192.168.0.3 (the router is .1) with GATEWAY on 192.168.0.1, the DNS
entries are 10.0.0.1 and 10.0.0.2, for my ISP's dns.

this works, on my computer.

I follow the guide and activate the internet connection sharing, in that instance the BT network driver (or device, in network connections windows (Win XP)) get 192.168.0.1 as IP.
Well, when i connect the Ipaq H3970 with my computer (got a MSI BT dongle), the "connected" thingy shows up. But now to the problem.

I downloaded and installed those PING programs, and started testing.
Well internet DONT work on the ipaq, even through ipaq bt manager says so, aswell the Bt manager on my computer. (its a newer version on that BT software on the PC then you got in the guides, but it looks 99% the same) I cant se the ipaq on the LAN, neither can i ping it (whats the IP btw it gets? Or do i NEEd to have DHCP on the PC for it to work?) well, anyway, i use the vxUtil to ping and i get no respons from 192.168.0.1 or .3 for that mather.

So what is wrong? I hane tampered around with all the settings in the ipaq (in the "connections" part) chaning all the "automatic" ip's to 192.168.0.7 aswell added Gateway and DNS entries to 192.168.0.1
But still, no can do. I even changed the IP on the default "Bt network access" in the "modems" part. I cant change the Gateway there only DNS and IP.
ANyway, changed.. and now the "info" in vxutil (the Info program that comes with it) show me
192.168.0.7 as ip, 255.255.255.0 as subnet mask,192.168.0.248 as gateway and 192.1680.1 / 10.0.0.1 as DNS on the "Bluetooth null modem".

All other entries like Ne20001 etc shows the appropiate settings (192.168.0.1 etc).

So whats wrong realy?

Windows and ipaq says im connected, but it dont work. The BT network interface says "cable connected"... but how in earth do i know what ip the ipaq got, if it even got one, and if not, how do i change it to a setting that accomodate my config?

Sorry if wrote a long entry here, but i rather share more info then less info. I realy want to get internet to work on my ipaq through BT..

Or even LAN access (getting access to the LAN via my BT computer would be a dream, but IC is even better!)

Help is appreciated!

Btw, one thing that strikes me. The guides dont say anything about a "Networkd Log on" window. I did a hard reset and followed the guide right to the letter.. but i get that window

Usename :
Password:
Domain:
[OK] [CANCEL]
[] Save Password

So, whats the for? Is any password etc ok.. or is that configged somewhere in my PC or the ipaq (cant be, i reseted remember)

I think there's a conflict in your network. Since ICS requires the address 192.168.0.1 in the destination adapter, and since this address is already in use in the same network segment, you'll get a conflict.

The only way to make it work would be changing the gateway IP address but it is assigned to it from the DHCP server on your DSL provider.

I'd suggest you have a look at Winrouter Lite if you can't change the IP address. The software will allow you to create and manager routing on your computer.
