My partner now has a work phone and I want to use his Blackberry for my phone, he was on Vodafone and I am Telecom, it says that the SIM is disabled so can I do anything to change this so my Telecom Sim will work?

You should just be able to put your sim in it, but I don't know if it will work on Telecom's network. The storm has GSM850/900/1800/1900 for 2G and HSDPA2100 for 3G. It should work on XTs infill 2100 sites, but probably not on anything else. The XT network is UMTS 850Mhz, not GSM.

OK so it's not a matter of entering a MEP number etc.

Nope. That phone doesn't support the frequency (850mhz UMTS, not GSM) that XT uses.
