Right, so I'm getting an imate smartphone 2, mainly so I can check all the stuff on my website (bandwidth, blocked ip's trying to get access, ect.)

What does it support? I have a few applications I wrote, all in C++, and a few in J2ME things I want to get. It has windows mobile 3.0, latest build, but does it support everyting that XP does?

Thanks guys.

Welcome to Geekzone... The Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition (which is running on your i-mate Smartphone2) support non-managed code (C++) and managed code (.Net Compact Framework, version 1).

It is not compatible with Windows XP at binary level - you won't run an application written for Windows XP on a Windows Mobile device, and that's because of different processors, UI, etc, etc, etc...

As for J2ME, if you find a compatible JRE then it's all good. There are a few around.
