I see the Nokia X7 has been announced in Europe and is also searchable on most Nokia asia/pacific websites. Does anyone know why it has not been announced on nokia.co.nz? Could it be that there is a stockpile of Nokia N8's waiting to be sold first?
Same for both the E6 and X7. My understanding is that while these phone are "shipping" in Europe, when they say "shipping" this might mean moving from some Nokia warehouse to some retailers warehouse and there are no actual deliveries to end users so far.
Might also be that before they can be sold here, the network operators will each want to mess about with them for a while first, change the colour of some icons, put an ugly startup screen on them and take away some features.
If you really want one, I'd give it a few weeks and then start checking the parallel importers.
Regarding the N8 stockpiles theory... not sure if I can think of many reasons someone would want an X7 over an N8 other than a slightly larger screen and you might get the PR2.0 (a.k.a. Anna) software a little sooner. To get that you give up the autofocus camera and xenon flash and I'm not sure if the X7 has HDMI out either.
Thanks for the info - finally! This looks like a great phone. Putting aside Nokia's recent performance, I think Symbian Anna will be around for the life of the phone at least!
Nokia has now pulled support information on the X7 from the nokia.co.nz website - how strange! Come on Nokia NZ, you can do better than that! Has anyone got any more info about the arrival or non-arrival of this phone in NZ?
