i'm planning to make an simple GIS for a phone but i do not know on what phone will i make the GIS... if i use a 3rd gen S60 phone, will it work with W800?

No, it won't work. Symbian S60 (the one used on Nokia) is different (user interface) from the Symbian UIQ (the one used on Sony Ericsson P series).

The W series is completely different, not running Symbian at all.

in other phones of nokia and sonyericsson, will it work? if it's really impossible, what phone can you recommend? thanks

If you want to use on non-Symbian devices, then you will have to create the application with J2ME, I am afraid.

The w800 does not use Symbian. If you develop for Symbian S60 it will not run on Symbian UIQ and it will not run on non-Symbian devices.

i see... thanks for clearing things up... i'm very new at this... i need to make this app for a project at school... what phone would you recommend? i really like the walkman phones but those are kinda expensive... my dad already has a 6600 but i want a larger resolution...
