I received an HTC update this morning but I have no idea what it was for - I've just been Googling around but can't find anything definitive.

I know there was an update for some of the other models recently to enable connection to hidden WiFi networks but I don't know if that's it.

My firmware version after the update is 2250.21.12200.179.

Anybody else?

IIRC there was a problem with colour banding and HTC was planning to correct it. Hard when companies release updates but don't tell people what's being updated...

Was the firmware updated or the OS version?

I have just updated a work mate's HTC Trophy. It was a small firmware update from HTC and is claiming to have better battery life, call clarity and touch response. He already has 7392 installed so it was already up to date.

Im running Mango version 7661 and a update for my Omnia 7 came through today. But since i put mango on  Zune doesn't recognise my phone. I hope these firmware updates are not that important cos im not going to be able to put it on!

If you are running Mango pre-release then you must also install the Zune beta, otherwise it won't recognise the device.

BETA build loaded mango devices will not get the firmware updates till you load an RTM version of Mango or load a retail non-beta version of windows phone OS. The firmware updates are not mission critical so you would only have to wait till mango hits RTM or you can revert to the nodo build backup that should be loaded on your zune. My zune software version is 4.8.2134.0 downloaded from the microsoft connect website.

Cloud spending continues to surge globally, but most organisations haven’t made the changes necessary to maximise the value and cost-efficiency benefits of their cloud investments. Download the whitepaper From Overspend to Advantage now.

Well ive been running Mango beta build 7661 for about a month now and the update only arrived today, so i don't know if thats true about firmware updates only going to RTM builds.  My Zune version is 4.8.2098.0. I might try and download the version you got there and see if that works. Otherwise i'll just keep running this until Mango is officailly released or i get my new Mango handset haha. Whatever comes first.

I had an update for the HTC Trophy a couple of days ago, revoking some security certificates that had been compromised (as far as I can recall). Don't remember it mentioning anything else.

Bring on Mango!
