Trying to discover process for setting up connection.
My guess is that the Ipaq's Bluetooth Manager software is not functioning properly ie. appears to freeze requiring soft reset after trying Search for other devices.

Any advice?

Do you have other Bluetooth devices close? The h3970 with OS 2002 supports only seven services. Of course the phone does not offer all these, but if other device around does...

Have you had time to look in our Bluetooth Guides? There is an article there with this configuration.

I guess you have already tried a drastic measure, like hard reset your Pocket PC?
