Is it possible to transfer files from the PC to the T3 via Bluetooth File Transfer or similar service? I had a Toshiba Pocket PC and there was a direct LAN type interface where files could be transferred. I don't see anything on your guides about this under Palm, just under Pocket PC.

Thank you.

You can transfer files via Bluetooth - even install .prc and .pdb if you want. But you won't have an file explorer like interface on your Palm like you have on the Pocket PC.

It's simple: open My bluetooth Places on your computer, find the icon corresponding to your Palm there and simply drag and drop a file into that icon. The Palm will receive the file and tell you about it, like it does when you beam a file via infrared.

If it fails at first, double-click the icon corresponding to the Palm device so the computer can find the services available, then try again.

That's neat, it worked. Is there any way of initiating a transfer from PC to handheld when operating from the handheld? Is there any way of showing the directory of files on the PC??

Thanks

Great... There's no "fetch" function on the Palm, I'm afraid. If Palm does not implement a client for its OBEX it would be neat to someone to implement something using the Bluetooth API or as a conduit using the connection established by the Hotsync via Bluetooth (just an idea).

That would be nice. I am still having trouble HotSyncing through Bluetooth though (see my other post). Can you help me there??

I just tried the file transfer from PC to Palm T3 & everything appeared to go well. I got a dialogue on the T3 identifying the file & asking if I wanted to accept. When I confirmed to accept the file I got the following dialogue:

Fatal Alert....StringMgr.c,Line:72,NULL string passed

After of course performing the soft reset, everythin is fine, except no file.

Any thoughts/suggestions?

That sounds more like either insufficient memory on your Palm, or some hack conflict.

I don't think it's memory (I have 26 MB Flash Available) & I don't use any hacks. So I'm still baffled. Thanks for the response though.
