I upgraded my iPAQ 5450 recently with windows 2003(i am a late starter!). Afterwards i had problems with the WiFi. I did upgrade my iPAQ 5450 with latest WiFi "SP24979.exe", "SP25582.exe" & "SP27632.exe" but still the WiFi is very unstable. Sometimes it works and sometimes there is no WiFi light and it doesn't work.
I have done soft-rest a lot of times. I have also taken out the battery many times. However i am really surprised and annoyed that the WiFi doesnt seem to work consistenly and i am never sure when it is going to work or now?!?! Any help will be highly appreciated as i have spent enormous amount of time on this iPAQ where the main WiFi functionality has given me a lot of headache & sleepless nights..... Cry

I am deeply disappointed with HP support on this and would be ever so grateful if someone can give me some idea please???
Undecided

Have you checked how much free memory you have on your device these days? IF you go to Start | Settings | System | Memory, what are the readings there for Storage and Programs?

thanks for a prompt reply. The memory on the pocket PC is around 10.5MB for storage and 10.5MB for Programs....

And this is available, not allocated, right?

I was just thinking that it could be some low memory problem when loading the driver, but if you have 10MB available for programs it should be enough.

Have you tested this iPaq with other access points, made sure there's no interference from cordless phones, etc?

its not the access point issue becuase the light never turns on sometimes and i get the message that the connectivity does not detect any network card. So what i mean is that i am having problem on the Pocket PC side becuase the WiFi doesnt start up for detection....
