I seem to remember a little app going round a while ago called batterysaver.exe that helped kill data connections as soon as it detected they were idle. Im sure it was called batterysaver.exe.

Does anyone have this, or similar?

Please contact me, id love to get my hands on a copy. (URL anybody?)

Id also like to be able to force my Apache to not be allowed to access mobile data unless i explicity allow it (but still keep the phone turned on). I know i can alter, say, the phone number (from #777 to 0800whatever), but thats a bit messy.

It seems that the Apache doesnt always try hard enough to get a wifi connection first, or sometimes im connected to EVDO when I drive home, and stay connected despite the introduction of my WiFi router.... (would be nice if it dropped EVDO then reconnected to WiFi instead).

I've had similar problems.  I managed to bully google earth into actually installing on the imate sp5, and got it running but it won't work through activesync as a network connection, and when it's hooked up via wifi it quite often tries to dial gprs until i hit cancel a few times and then it goes via wifi.

Would be interested in hearing the responses. Some sort of advanced connection manager / network profiler equivalent would be nice.

Jp.

Make sure all connections are set to use "Internet" and make it as a default.
