I have a Nokia.  It cannot display Asian characters which is frustrating.  Anyone know where I can get this fixed?  Web browsers, dictionary, Facebook app (Nokia's own app) all cannot display it.  Have to resort to a 3rd party app - Opera.

Previously I had a Hong Kong Nokia and that could display.

Thanks.

You get the language packs of the firmware variant of where you bought the handset.
NZ bought handsets have English, Filipino and Thai generally.

You cannot add other languages outside of those on the firmware variant you have

So ... if I am surfing on a foreign webpage or if I was on travel overseas, that means I cannot read the webpage?  And likewise if a friend sends me a text message in their native language it means I cannot read it?  So I need to go overseas or import a handset?

As you've already pointed out, you've got access to 3rd party applications for the website side of things, however the messaging is as you have stated.
