My iPAQ will turn on or sometimes even dial the phone if i set it down on a hard surface (if the phone was the last thing I used and that screen is active).

Is it possible to "lock" the screen or the on/off switch? maybe this is a "model" thing - but I wish I had a lock like my ipod

you mean like screen-face down? if so, don't lay it down that way! hehe.

There is a setting in the control panel to disable all keys except on/off button. My partner hsa 6315, and the on/off button aren't exactly that easy to be press on accidentally. Perhaps you should look at getting a case to offset the chances of accidentally pressing on the buttons.
