Universal Remote software such as Nevo and Total Remote uses the CIR port on iPAQs. However, I know that not all iPaqs have this CIR port. Although, the 4150 doesn't include Nevo, can I use its IR port for as Universal remote?

Does anyone know if the 4150 has a CIR port?

The 4150 definitely does not have CIR. It only has IrDA, which is fairly weak. Distance from receiver needs to be approx 10 inches! The IR window is also on the bottom of the 4150. This is only a minor inconvenience since Total Remote can 180 deg the screen.

A little on Total Remote’s functionality with the 4150. Technical representatives at Griffin Technologies currently profess incompatibility. However, they did mention that some 4150’s do work. It depends on your unit’s audio strength, which I guess varies pda to pda. I use Total Remote with my 4150 and employ the audio module. It does work for at least 15 feet. That’s all I need. There have been some software issues which are a bit off topic so I’ll refrain.
