ive just had my Harrier replaced by telecom (amazing)

ive searched but im still unsure on how i can restore my contacts from my PC back to my new harrier ?

something to do with outlook ?? i dont use outlook but it is installed (not the version that was provided with the telecom cd, is that a problem)

AFAIK activesync backed up the contacts every time my phone was synced in the cradle

Windows Mobile devices synchronise your PIM (Contacts, Calendar, e-mail) with either Microsoft Outlook or Microsoft Exchange Server. If you have Outlook installed then you should open it and see if the contacts are there.

If they are, as soon as you create a partnership with your new Pocket PC then all this information will automatically flow to the device.

Having managed to scotch 160+ contacts during the AKU 2.2 upgrade on my Apache, I have one or two small pieces of advice!

1. Export your contact list to a CSV file before proceeding.  At least that way you can get them back into Outlook if things get a bit tangled.

2. Use File > Delete Mobile Device in ActiveSync before connecting the replacement Harrier.  You can then re-define the pairing when you connect and get your contacts downloaded.

If I had done either of these I probably would have been OK!  It seems that when I reconnected the updated Apache, sans it's contacts, ActiveSync decided the best option was to do the same to Outlook Embarassed

Good Luck!
