I have a RTX 3080 in my 14th Gen i7 Gaming PC (which I rarely use).

Recently when I have used it for gaming, the heat coming off my mid tower case is huge. It heats my 4x4m2 room in about 5-10 minutes.

The outside of the case is uncomfortably hot to touch.

I haven't taken any measurements, but even without it, it seems really hot.

Computer seems stable whilst gaming however.

CPU below 100c, really mid 80s is most I want to see mine at during gaming.

GPU mid 70s I'm comfortable with.

They get hot these days. But are stable.

Hmm task Manager is showing as 81c. Playing Xenonauts 2 so not extremely taxing.

It's weird that task manager can tell me the gpu temps, not the CPU temps!

Yup. 14700k maxes out around 250W, 3080 around 300W. TDP on intel CPUs has been nonsense for some time.

What case and fans are you running? Hope its not one of those "quiet cases" those will basically do exactly what you have described for heat.

Modern PC components will chew a solid 500W of heat and there's only one good way to deal with it.

I don't have any experience with gaming PC's, but this strikes me as very wrong. There should be enough case fans to reject enough heat from the case to prevent this from happening. Normally the challenge is getting the heat out of the CPU / GPU, not out of the case.

Yeah, look for some 'airflow' temperatures or motherboard temperatures in HWInfo/HWMonitor. They should probably only be perhaps 10-15C above ambient

Make sure your case fans are set up to pull air through the case (i.e. some intake, some exhaust) and attached to the motherboard with sensible automatic controls, or attached directly to the PSU on full speed. Some case manufacturers supply an onboard manual fan controller, so you have to turn the fans up when you start gaming and down when you're done. World's stupidest idea but it makes things quieter if the motherboard fan control is aggressive by default.

Air Cooling on the CPU, Noctua D15. It's a Fractal Define 7 Case with a Glass Side. Standard included fans.

I'll try and get a photo of the internal.

The graphics card is a couple or so years old purchased from @gehenna but only relatively recently installed.

I've not looked inside the case for anything abnormal, but apparently these cards shut off at 93c and 83c is 'fine'. It just feels pretty warm.

You would think so, but unfortunately some modern cases put aesthetics over airflow...

Unfortunately that case is known to have issues with thermals, see Gamers Nexus review on youtube.

Short version is make sure to open the front door when gaming at the very least.And possibly pull the filter out when gaming to give it some good airflow.
