I just finished the Survivor Tomb Raider trilogy on PC. I played the first 2 on my PC and the third one on the steam deck.

The games themselves were ok but they are the perfect style of game for the steam deck. It was a ton of fun.

I bought Mrs handle Zelda Breath of the Wild for the Switch when she got Covid (again) in January. We’re both enjoying having a movie on in the background while we game handheld on the couch.

Bought Jedi Survivor but I never really got into the first game. It was awfully buggy and I never got back to it.

Anyone already playing who can tell me how big of a deal it will be to skip the first?

Not sure about the new one but Fallen Order ended up being a great game although the combat was pretty hard. It's worth going back to and I think it's on Game Pass

Should be fine to skip the first as you start the 2nd with your full set of skills.  Should do a Youtube story refresher though as they're linked.  Another AAA game that's fundamentally broken at launch though. A lot of money to spend for a performance mode that doesn't work without massive frame drops and screen tearing.  Quality mode is at least consistent if not also a bit buggy.

Bee:

Replaying Horizon Zero Dawn, New game+ trying to get to 100% this time, then Still trying to get thru Skyrim - that seems to go on a lot longer than Horizon or God of War :)

im doing the same (playing the ps4 version on my ps5 in order to finish it so I can play the new one), I’m actually further through the main story this time around as I haven’t messed around as much with the side quests like I tend to get bogged down doing. Really enjoying this and looking forward to finishing the main quest stuff so I can enter the frozen wilds expansion

So I have played a little of Resident Evil 4 Remake. It's quite a hard game to get into, and I didn't stick at it very long after I got Jedi Survivor. I have been having some fun with that! The combat is quite challenging.

I also had a play on my Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra with a Bluetooth Xbox Controller, with Cloud Gaming. I tried some Forza Horizon 5. It's a little blurry but the performance is mind-boggling to be honest.

I am going to try it from my Hotel in Australia next week.

I am really really disappointed Control is not on Xbox Game Pass any longer. I assume that means that even if I purchase it, I won't be able to play it on Xcloud?

Correct, as unfortunately it is removed from their streaming services. you will need to download it, and stream it from your xbox (if you have one)

I mostly play Diablo on the PC. It is nice to see my daughter getting into the PlayStation games, she really likes the Last of Us and she is currently playing part 2. While waiting for Diablo 4 I went back to Path of Exile which I played a little of previously. I am really enjoying it. Some great areas with interesting content and great challenges.

One very annoying thing with PoE that I have experienced twice now is when crafting. I have taken an item off, yesterday it was a Helm, put it into the crafting bench to see what is possible, do not craft anything then go to put it back on and it will not let me as character requirements are not met. Must be a weird mix of being ok at the time to put on but depending on what other items you now have once you take it off it no longer works for your build.

Diablo 4 looks very promising and hopefully will be a good game although just a little concerned on the level of complexity with all the different options to upskill your character and weather it will just be a bit hard to master.

I just started playing fallout 76.  Never really played this type of game before.  I like the build and roaming aspect....though getting stuck far away from my C.A.M.P over burdened no stimpacks, very few caps and having to walk back can be a little slow.

I have been playing Jedi Survivor. I am enjoying it mostly, though I have to say, for the first time in a while, I am really struggling with the combat. I feel like I can't get the timing right, and don't really get the combinations that work, parrying is very difficult.

I had a shot at the first boss monster, took me so so many goes to get that. Some enemies that should be easy I take a beating on, by some fluke harder ones are sometimes a bit easier.

Firmament is the latest release from Cyan. If you are into the original Myst, Riven or any puzzle game then Firmament is worth a look at. If you liked Cyan's previous release Obduction then Firmament is along the same lines.

Beat Saber has just been released as a free PS5/PSVR2 upgrade and a new Queen music pack also released. I know what I'll be doing tonight after a couple of beers.
