Cheers, I wasn't aware of the Left D-pad thing I'll try that.

I really find it hard to keep track of all the controls. I am finding it stupid tedious to keep my bars and cores full and I didn't know until last night sometimes you have to brush your hoses 3-4 times before it gets "clean".

The game is really needing a decent tutorial.

Yea so those random encounters where somebody is wailing about being innocent is for those who want notoriety. Pretty sure every one of those you have to fight law/bounty hunters so will reduce your honour.

Wanted bounties increase the more you kill law while in an outfit that locals recognise. It's recommended to change outfits to a different one than the one you wander around town in or do good things in. Also you can buy full face masks from the fence as the default bandanna only covers half. Also if you can, let your gang members do the killing. For eg. SPOILER when you free Micah he pretty much has godmode so stay behind him and let him do the work.

I don't think I've had a Wanted bounty over $80. I tend to wander a lot though and have found a few treasure locations so am not short on cash.

Your camp moves once you do the sheep mission with John. If you can't see any missions available try sleeping every quarter day to see if any pop up. If you press square on the world map it'll also tell you the available legends with missions being right at the top.

Agreed, lacking a good tutorial. Although if they did I think it'd be far too lengthy to catch most peoples attention.

A light coloured horse Is easier to see how clean it is. My pure white arabian horse is very clear seeing mud splatters on, and every brush wipes a little off till hes pure white again.

Easiest way to refill cores if you're low on supplies is to camp up and sleep. Just press Triangle anywhere out in the wilderness to rest, the option to camp should pop up (can also select camp in the Item wheel with L1 then R1 down). Sleep for the lowest amount of time and you should be full cores on everything. Either that or take a bath at a hotel.

If you have spare meat from game you've hunted it's quite easy to cook the plain meat for core replenishment.

God almighty, more tedium, now I need to keep multiple outfits. This feels more like a Sims game than an actual game.

Sigh. I'll see about that masks and what not.

Not that hard.  Just keep a hot and cold outfit on your horse.  When you go into the mountains change clothes, takes literally 1 second.

You can ride through water to clean your horse, saves you brushing.  Go back to my post earlier about upgrading your camp wagons, that way you'll always be able to stock up on everything you need any time you go on a mission.  Keep hay on you, that almost fully restores your horses health and stamina.  Once you upgrade your medical wagon you'll get access to potent cures which give you instant full health/stamina/deadeye all at the same time.

Also anytime you see Premium Cigarettes, pick them up!  If you can't, smoke some of the ones you already have.  Every Premium Cigarettes has a collectors card.  Once you get sets you can sell them for a good price.

Ah so just to clarify about the Wanted system, theres a infographic here

Outfits are to stop witnesses from identifying you as Arthur. If you get into a scuffle with the law then you'll get wanted status immediately.

Outfits and bandanas and masks are a bit hit and miss.  A lot of the time people tend to recognise you anyway.  Sometimes you just need to accept you're going to get a bounty, so head into those situations with enough cash to pay them off and you'll be fine.

SpartanVXL: theres a infographic here

That's from the strategy guide which you can get as part of the companion app.  It's worthwhile if you're having trouble with the game.

Had my first buggy side mission last night.  Came across a couple of chain gang prisoners who had escaped just outside Rhodes.  They wanted me to take down their wanted posters in town but the game hadn't generated them.  I'll keep trying after restarting the PS4 on the weekend but it could be one of those missions that never gets resolved.  Had a few of those in Skyrim and it did my head in!

Did you wander around the town to see if they pop up when you get near? Nothing was on the mini-map when they give you the mission. But once you walk past it they appear and you can pick them up. There were a couple on street lamp poles including where you had to push a guy away, and one on the board next to the sheriff office

Had to laugh last night, came across a guy being mauled by a wolf, scared off the wolf, tried helping the guy and he told me to sod off basically.

OK, well I am not sure how many hours I am into it now, but I have just moved camp for the first time. It's starting to click for me, as my stats improve. I am still finding it too slow. Like someone else mentioned, calling your horse is tedious since range can be an issue (WHY????) and then it stops many meters away. Walking around in camp is extremely unenjoyable.

Finding Legendary animals for example, killed my forth one last night, but probably spent around 2 hours looking for it, then transporting it literally to the other side of the camp, even that took around 8 minutes of real time play. Not enjoyable. All for $35.

Dead-Eye is better now I think.

My horse appears to be marking his territory with poop. I almost never feed him yet I am sure he has dumped about a ton of poop on the ground. On the more frustrating side, he needs brushing about every 20-25 minutes of gameplay.

When you see a campfire, and you go to there to investigate and get told to sod off, if you stay until they attack you, you don't seem to suffer negative consequences, but if you can see they will attack you and draw first, then you do, is that about right?
