I am very excited about this game. Some of the detail being introduced as teasers seem insane. I am wondering how even the latest gen consoles will cope with it.

What's your favourite feature annouced about it to date?

Anyone pre-ordered? What's the best deal around?

I see PlayStation announced a RDR II PS4 Pro bundle on their blog. Does anyone know if it's available in NZ?

Yes I saw that too. Haven't seen any mention of bundles on any retailers as yet though. Would be the perfect excuse to upgrade to the Pro.

Regarding best deals, I'm leaning towards Mighty Apes special edition for $140 (ouch I know). A lot of money but I figure if I get 40 plus hours out of it, it'll be worth it.

Same way as usual.... on PS4 they'll give you a High Performance or High Resolution option, the former being 60fps but only 1080p and the latter 4k but 30fps and probably a little jerky from time to time.

Then there's the PS4 fan...get used to it being on and loud....a LOT.  I've noticed it more and more in some modern games like Game of War and Shadow of the Tomb Raider.

Xbox One X should cope fine.

I have never heard my PS4 Pro fan to be honest. I usually prefer my PS4 to my Xbox when there is a choice, but I have enjoyed my last few experiences on the Xbox One X. It's the first time I've ever felt the money I spent on an Xbox was worth while and I normally only own the Xbox One  for Exclusive titles.

I am wondering which will look/run better. I would have picked the PS4 Pro, but could be the Xbox One X. I'll buy it on whatever platform is the best combination of both.

Wow a $40 premium for the special edition, that's a fair bit. I'd expect at least another 5-10 hours of gameplay for that.

Maybe if they release story DLC.  But these days you don't get much for your money other than maybe being able to play the game 1 or 2 days early if it's digital, and some in-game items (costumes, weapons, etc).

Cant wait, the first one is what prompted me to buy a PS3 :D

I still play the first one today (albeit on Xbox One).

Wont be playing online at this point though, I don't pay for Xbox Live so...... :)

Bugs or shoddy-optimisation aside, I would expect the Xbox One X (such a stupid name!) to be slightly superior in terms of managing a higher resolution/more consistent frame rate. It is a fair bit more powerful than the PS4 Pro.

I will be getting it on PS4 Pro the day of release (only console I have currently) and have been looking forward to it for ages.

I hope it's not a wicked disappointment. I wasn't that happy with the last two GTA's. They were ok, just not as good as SA

I think GTA V has been my favourite so far (with Vice City second) I never really got on with SA - found it a bit "baggy" IMHO

I don't think they will ever top that Vice City soundtrack though.

Yep - really looking forward to it. Have been following the news, trailers and leaks ever since it was first announced. Loved the last one and GTA IV and V - bought my PS4 specifically to play GTA V three years ago.

Ive played all the GTA's from GTA3 onwards (excluding DLC etc), loved them all really, but each had its quirks until GTAV. GTA4 however I was not a fan of the vehicle physics and the whole "keep friendships" thing but otherwise found it fun to play and explore.

I love open world games where I'm not tied to a particular path/area all the time. GTA, RDR, Sleeping Dogs and the like keep me going back to them because theres so much to explore and do. Even in my Everquest days, I was known in my group for being the explorer - "hey where are you..... what the.... thats a lvl 40 area and youre only level 8!!"

So long as RDR2 keeps that same feel about it, I'll be hooked :)

Me and the boys still jam this mix every now and again.

GTA SA I spent maybe 500 hours plus on MTA:SA and then hours and hours on a PS2 at mates and everywhere since it came out. I much have been 9-10 or something, going out bout ballas getn ganked and grove st. You could go into the main cop station and get an interesting weapon from the bathrooms then massacre the whole station with it..

Regarding RDR I cannot wait.

I'm sorry, what!? 800 Hours? Doing what!? I finished the game in about 40 hours? I did plenty of side missions too?
