xpd: Never reaslised there was some Holdens available in the game :) Now have a Monaro and some other Holden sitting in the garage. Nice to see some "local" flavour in the game.

They were there in GT4 and GT PSP.  Pity the two local Fords (GT-P and F6) didnt make it, it was fun to pit the two brands against each other.

By the way, anyone got a X1 redbull yet?  I have bronze in 1 challenge but other 2 are harder...

the Monaro was one of my first cars. Supercharged it was blitzing anything from europe. There is one Ford (Aus) as well, but very expensive (2,000,000ish) which i haven't bought yet.
I don't understand the service centre... after every race now (classA or B)  cars need engine and body overhaul which usually costs more than winning the race got me.yet not servicing them dosen't really matter.. lose a few horse power but negligible.

I got the Red Bull X2010 S.Vettel (P) (Red Bull livery) when getting to lvl35 classB
Got to complete atleast another 9hour endurance race to reach lvl35 classA

Ive heard that the endurance races are in real time..... so kiss goodbye a weekend ;) Pause is your only friend, no saving through the race. Have friends on standby to race for you :)

yep - in real time - i did it mainly in 3 3hr stints over a couple of days... just paused when in the pits.
Just grateful no power cuts and playtv works off the pc.
574 laps is VERY boring....

ClassB is a different story - start it before going to bed, and 9hrs late you've won. no skill involved

What incredibly poor design. That makes the longer endurance races completely out for me. Will future progress be hampered by not being able to complete all endurance races (I'm currently @ Level 15)?

Further progress will definitely be hampered by lvl 32 and up if you don't do the endurance races. The xp requirements are so much higher at that lvl. Below lvl 30 though not an issue.

Huh?  Poor design?  It's an endurance race!  If you could save it and do bits of it at a time when you felt like it, where would the endurance be?

Not everybody has the luxury of being able to sit down for a 24 hour gaming session, especially not this 38 y/o father of two, who has a very busy life away from his console. I know that the race can be paused, but this would require the Playstation to left on for the duration of the race. Considering I'm lucky to get an hour to game each night, this would mean that the console would have to be left on for weeks, and mean that we couldn't play any other games or watch any of our Blu-Ray movies. Hardly a realistic option.

So yeah, its poor design. One that seems to be justified by a minority of hardcore gamers who are unable to put themselves in others shoes (according to other fora I've read today), who cite "realism" as the reason for its omission. GT5 is far from realistic in other fundamental areas, so surely they could've easily made this concession.

Besides, being able to pause endurance races at all totally negates the realism argument. All saving does is provides a way to persist the paused game state already available.

I also wouldn't easily be able to complete the endurance races, but I sort of think that's the whole point, right?

So, anyone still playing ? :)

Ive had little time for the game over the past year with moving, work, kids etc but still enjoy playing. Even been trying online occasionally, that can be amusing :)

Find the pricing for the new DLC cars a bit high considering what was paid for the original game... suspension of endurance races very welcome.... load times have been tweaked a bit which seems to speed things up.
