Senecio:
So, anyone else submit a leave application at work for the 12th and 13th November?
I put in a permanent leave application nearly seven years ago - so I’m ready for PS5 at any time. It’s a bugger having to wait.
Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.
Sony v Microsoft/Bethesda:
I’m not sure how many story links I should spam in here but here’s another one I found interesting:

HDMI 2.0 is fine. 2.1 gives you a higher refresh rate at a higher resolution, up to you if that's something that's important to you.
sonic1989: Hey guys, I was just wondering if HDMI 2.1 is a must or hdmi 2.0 is good enough? I've got an Oled tv (LG B7) that I've been using and it doesn't have hdmi 2.1 but definitely 2.0. and i kinda like the tv as its got amazing picture and sound quality. cheers
’Good enough’ for what? I think you’ve answered your own question - the B7 is a great TV and as you say, has a good picture. You’ll love the PS5 on it. May look marginally better on a B/C9 or LG’s 2020 equivalent which have HDMI 2.1 4k resolution and support 120Hz refresh rates. However if you’re a stickler for wanting the best, you could buy a new TV - but it seems that very few games will meet those specs at the outset. Games that reach those specs won’t be prevalent until 2021/22.

sonic1989: Thanks for answering. yeah i ment good enough in terms of getting the most out of PS5 performance. Not willing to shed another 4k to 5k just to get hdmi 2.1. I was wondering if that is necessary to get in order to make the most out of ps5 games. most games are likely to be 4k/60fps anyway. maybe towards the end of the console cycle might go up to 4k/120fps
Exactly this, I wouldn't expect to see 8K or even stable 120fps till 2-3 years from now.

Some Japanese YouTubers have had hands-on time with the PS5. Nothing revealed about the new UI but sounds like some good news for those who were concerned about airflow and possible fan noise etc:

That is good to know! I never found my ps4 was terrible loud, but could hear the disc drive spin-up and occasionally the fans but never intrusively.
Less noise is always better though!
sonic1989: Apparently, the guy wasn't allowed to play around with the Ui or anything else except for the games he was allowed to show off. Not sure what to think about this as we are a lil over a month away and not much has been revealed about bc or ui and any other new features 🤔
people are speculating either the ui isn't ready, too buggy or even being rushed for release come November 12 or they are hiding killer features or surprises that they don't want to show to the competition too early.
