From everything I've read, just go for the cheaper key, the US one. That's what I'll be getting (will pre-order it in a few days).

Your Diablo III regional settings are tied to your residing country in your Battle.net profile, so if your address is in New Zealand, you'll be tied to "The Americas" by default, for both play sessions and the real money auction house:

http://us.battle.net/d3/en/blog/5203654/Introducing_Global_Play_for_Diablo%C2%AE_III-5_1_2012

http://us.battle.net/d3/en/services/auction-house/how-to

Yes, the 7.6 GB retail client is the full retail game, online single player and all. If you were to pre-order the game from Battle.net directly, the download links I posted previously are what Blizzard would offer to you. They are publicly available to download.

Retailers, OffGamers included, probably aren't allowed to sell you the game until 15 May, so it'd be a pre-order at this stage, but regardless you'd have to wait until 15 May @ 7pm NZST for Blizzard to launch the Diablo III servers to the public. You can't even install the game until then, the installer won't let you (the installer's files are encrypted, and will only decrypt the files once the launch date has been reached).

Couple of screenshots for you:

Blizzard's just posted a Diablo III Launch Day Preparation Guide.

Looks like you'll be allowed to install the game a few hours before the servers go live :)

Well I bought the US version $60 from offgamers, and already downloaded the install client, so I am ready to go.

WTF with the 15th release date..

Key ordered!

I asked OffGamers when they would be supplying the key, and they replied:

Please be informed that the code will be delivered on the 15thMay during the official launch of the game, and as of the delivery time, it is yet to be confirmed at the moment. It will usually be delivered during mid-noon GMT +8.

So OffGamers should hopefully supply their keys around 4pm NZST on 15 May. (timezone conversion)

@draculahowsby - thanks, worked a charm! And the terms appear to allow this; they seem to explicitly say you can purchase the us version if u live outside the us but are responsible for any sales tax etc. Only annoying thing was that it allowed me to then select nz for billing address... but each time i did it would change my payment method from visa to mastercard and changing it back would clear the address. In the end i just put my nz address but said it was in California and it worked.
