The cheapest will probably be Blizzard, get the Digital copy.

Offgamers.com: Diablo III key for $59.99 USD (roughly $72.89 NZD).

Diablo III retail client can be downloaded here (7.6 GB).

You'd think ordering from Blizzard directly would be cheapest, but for NZ Battle.net account holders, Blizzard offers Diablo III for $79.95 AUD, which is roughly $101.71 NZD, so it's not a very good deal.

Or if you're a World of Warcraft player, just sign up to the "Annual Pass". Basically, they give you Diablo III at no charge, provided you commit to paying for WoW for 12 months. Obviously if you don't play it, that's a horrifically bad deal. But if you do, then it works out quite well (it's like hire purchasing D3!)

Offgamers are cheap, never heard of them, anyone here used them? Is the release date in NZ same as world wide release date? IE can I play it the same day I get my media from Mightyape for example.

Yeah I've used OffGamers before to order a key for a World of Warcraft expansion. They scan the serial from the jewel case and save it as an image in your order history (example), once the game's released. So no need to worry about it getting sniffed over an email or something. OffGamers also rang me with an automated phone call to verify my details.

Servers go live on 15 May @ 7pm NZST (source), at which time you'll be able to install the Diablo III client.

OffGamers says they'll supply the key on 15 May, but maybe that would roll over into 16 May with the time differences and their staffing hours, I'm not sure. Could probably contact them and ask to confirm, but I'm not too worried.

Must say the price is very tempting, but this sounds a bit dodgy.  So you're actually paying for a physical game, but they keep it?

The also seem to be a major RMT operation?

I have also used Offgamers, no problems here and you can convert the prices to NZD which makes it a hell of alot easier to know what you are getting for how much.

nzgameshop.com have it for $67 however I think you'd wait a few days after release due to it being shipped from the UK.  Bought off them many times and had no hassles in fact I have been basically buying all my stuff from them since I first found there site they're that good and cheap (and sell more than just games).

One thing that the others didn't mention is that offgamers would likely be selling their key from an international stock pool and as a result of that you'd be stuck with having that areas marketplace (auction house (like nzgameshop is classed as the European market)) from which to buy or sell stuff too with apparantly no way to change it so if your not looking to find loot and potentially sell it for real money to people who can't find their own then nzgameshop would be the cheapest option but if that's something you think may interest you then your best bet is to buy from NZ stock and sadly pay a lot more.

Yeah, they have a physical store too. I assume they just throw the box away (and shred your key) after they supply you your key. And yes, they seem to buy/sell in-game currency. Very naughty :/

The key I linked above is a "US key"; OffGamers also sell a SEA key for $72.58 USD (~$88.19 NZD).

But I don't think a SEA key is necessary. You can play Diablo III in any region with any account (so no difference if you buy a US key or a SEA key), but the Real Money Auction House you use is locked to a specific region for each account. But since you just cash out with PayPal, I don't think it would really matter which RMAH region you get. Not sure if your RMAH region is tied to your key region or your Battle.net profile address details. Still, the North American region would probably have a larger number of players using the RMAH - a lot more potential buyers and a larger selection of items to choose from, too.

So anyone played the beta who can confirm that it's the game it should be after the wait?
Also when it talks about the client, I presume it means the game and that what's on offer is the full game single player and multiplayer?

I've been playing the beta on and off since November. I am very excited for the full release.

The retail client is the full game installed on your computer. It's online-only, even for single player. Lag isn't noticeable with single player (at least for me), but abilities have a slight delay in some cases when playing co-op. Not a huge deal, really.

You can download the full client now if you're buying a key online, however it won't let you install it until the servers go live. Or you can just get a physical retail copy at launch from a store and install it from a disc, though I suspect you'd still have to wait until the servers go live to even do that!

Compared to Diablo II, I must say the beta's graphics don't seem as gritty - the game's environment looks hand-painted rather than super realistic. But the gameplay is fun :)

ChrisNZL: So a worthwhile Sequel? Do you think it was worth the wait? Does it still feel quick and hacky slashy like the original? Games these games seem to be much slower and less enjoyable in this regard because of the much more high end graphics...

I think it will be worthwhile. Definitely worth the wait (though they took their sweet time!).

The beta's only a wee glimpse of the full game, but killing normal monsters is fast and fun - take down a group of mobs in a few seconds, no worries. But then you get to a pack of champions and they're a bit tougher, so they require a bit more effort but you get some nice loot for your troubles. There are also some monster affixes that are _hard_, so I know it's not all a walk in the park :)

The beta's boss (the first boss in the game) feels tough without being too easy and not too hard, akin to Blood Raven perhaps. And the game is no longer about spamming your health pot button when you get into the thick of things - gotta be strategic about when to pop your skills, so it's a nice touch.

You're always moving, clicking, killing, picking up loot. I don't think the beta's *as* fast-paced as Diablo II, like maybe the run speed seems a touch slower, but combat is quick. Monster packs vary from 3+ to say up to 15-20 at a time, so it's a good mix. Looking forward to the full game.

I agree, most games just don't seem to be as enjoyable these days. I think Diablo III will fill that void. Generic shooter X, team vs team games, slow-paced RPGs... There aren't many action RPGs on the market lately.

I'm also looking forward to Torchlight II when that comes out this year. And I've played Path of Exile lots, but looking forward to Diablo III much more.

Which version of D3 should I order from offgamers then? SEA?

Does the same client file still work no matter which region "key" you buy?

And the Client definitely contains the single player campaign? If I get emailed the key today, I still won't be able to play the game till the servers go live at the official time?

Interestingly the US version is $20 cheaper! Can I just buy the US version?
