I hate to break it to you, but this would make the cable snap, causing it to become non functional. 

I think what you mean to say is shorten the length between the starting and finishing points, which could only be accomplished by terraforming. (or Maui)

A much more sensible solution would be to install servers for the content you want, at a closer location.



Stop letting yourself be limited by the current known limitations of physics. I'm sure we could find a way around it. Worst case scenario OP could always deploy a quantum network between themselves and the datacenter that houses Playstaion Now.

Yes because that seems so much easier than just installing some local servers ? :)

I prefer the quantum network idea because it's simply much cooler. But I would be ok with local game servers too.
