Sony has confirmed the PS5 wont be releasing in the next 12 months. So the earliest would be May 2020 but most likely is November 2020.

No matter where you go, there you are.
I remember buying the Ps4 killzone bundle on launch, I don't think I'll get that opportunity this generation as money needs to be put aside for a house :(. I'm glad I never spent money on a UHD bluray player last year, the PS5 will eventually have me covered. Still curious to see the thermal results of both this and Xbox Series X, my OG PS4 is like a jet engine and I'm not too keen on another jet engine.
I'm not loving the look of the console, but I did see that it can sit on its side quite easily (with the curves probably helping for air flow and cooling too). And I love that there's a disc-less version too (who needs physical media in 2020?!), which will hopefully be a little cheaper.
Dial111: The cosmetics of the console itself is hit and miss, I prefer the Series X look.
Yeah. They don't want it to blend in, do they?
Does it come in black? 😄

I would imagine you'll still need a disc slot to play any backwards compatible PS4 games that weren't purchased digitally.
No doubt when the price is revealed they'll be emphasizing the disc-less version, though. 😉

If it doesn't I'd say the likes of dbrand skins will sort that issue very quickly

Anyone who wants to be able to play their favourites in 10 or 20 years' time, after the publisher has yanked them from the download service...

Also anyone with low-performance internet, like most of Australia (NBN thinks 25Mb/s is "broadband"), large swathes of urban / suburban USA ([cough]Comcast[cough]), and rural folks everywhere.
With the way game sizes are increasing, I reckon anyone with less than a 100Mb/s Internet connection will struggle with a download-only system.
I'm sorry, it doesn't fill me with any excitement at all. Yeah it looks a cool console, sat in any lounge or games room. But the content is what sells! Microsoft do still plug the Halo and Forza games but it feels as if there is more content being developed for Xbox.
I liked the PS series, but my money is with Microsoft for next gen gaming.
The little things make the biggest difference.
Looks like a new router for Mr Murphy to review:
I think I prefer the look of the Xbox little black tardis.

Are you kidding? All the games showcased are JUST the PS exclusives. It's not even including the non-exclusive games, and it's also just the first tranche of announcements. MS is only just catching up to PS exclusives by their investment in first party studios, but currently the majority of their games are still cross platform. Either way I'm getting both consoles, I never understood limiting yourself to one brand of exclusives arbitrarily.
