I am feeling pretty frustrated. I can't get the game to load even. I get a crash to desktop at the first "press any key to start". I've tried a bunch of the troubleshooting. Nothings helped.

Yea. I cant even install the game. My install yesterday corrupted with like 4gb left. I'm trying to install a second time lol.

I am having the exact same issue, I originally bought it on Steam but also purchased Game Pass and I am still getting the same. None of the things I have found online have worked for me either.

For the price of the game it should work. Overpriced imo.

Runs reasonably well on my Xeon E3 1240 v2 @ 3.40GHz 16GB ram and GTX 1070 on mainly high settings

Good scenery options, even managed to fly above some recognisable roads in Auckland. Main issues noticed are all trees are a lot bigger than normal and some landmark buildings (Skytower Auckland, Auckland Harbour Bridge, Sydney Harbour bridge) are missing.

If you want to try before you buy a $1.00 XBox gamepass includes the basic version (just cancel before month is up)

A list of known issues and their status/eta to be fixed is something some game developers have been doing for a while. With the resources at MS's disposal, I think this is something that should be published.

Just following up to say installing and accepting the EULA on a second computer did fix the issue for me, details outlined here: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/instant-crash-after-press-any-key-splash-screen/126709/21?u=jbardnzish

Highly recommend installing on a NVME SSD it really does make a difference.

Seems to be running fine with my 1070, mostly high settings some medium. Big airports do see some big drops.

Well I cant even get the game to install. It just hangs at the blue bar screen. I couldn't even get to the update screen.

Can you even buy the PC version in-store?  It is too bad, because bricks and mortar stores usually discount better than the online stores.

Here's a flight from Napier to Wellington I did to showcase things a little bit. Seems the audio's staticky, so might want to mute.. but otherwise that's on Ultra settings @ 3440x1440 and gets around 40ish fps depending on the scene.

Warning... I'm flying with an xbox controller, and I don't know much about flying a plane :P

So I am further along now, I now get a black screen and instead of crash to desktop, it keeps asking me to press a button.

Unusable on my i3 8100 with a 4gb 970 even with stuff on low. Took 10 mins to get into the game. The download took more than an hour because it was far too many small files.

I think its just on gamepass to help hardware sales.

Wait for the Xbox version coming out later this year to save a few dollars on PC hardware to make it play well/

Im a big FS fan, but in the last few years, no time. Ive recently set up bedroom 5, and the FS PC, Windows 7, optimised, and thats all thats on it. FSX

My issue is that I want sim over game. The easiest way to Sim it is to get an Xbox so it can run full noise. But will my Saitek setup work???  Yoke, rudder pedals, two throttle quadrants (allowing single engine to 4 jet engines) and the cap gadget that moves the view. And is this version designed to allow hardcore sim use or mainly as a fun, visually excellent game?  Id rather fly cloud cover, ILS, even use old style NAV and reach the destination. Have NZ photo scenery, VLC land class and NZ addons to make it nicer (Rob's Godzone website). I can upgrade the PC no worries, but is the PC version hardcore and the Xbox version just a fun game? Adding the Saitek gear is the main issue though. Admittedly haven't kept up to date since watching the various demo releases.
