I have asked them before and they told me they were planning to have a demo chair available at some stage. That was a few months ago.

If anyone wants - there is a $25 coupon here: http://secretlabnz.refr.cc/michaelmurphy

It is technically a referral link as I get a free Upholstery Cleaner bottle but it limited to 2x discounts and hey - $25 is $25.

@kiwifidget A couple of weeks in and I've found the Secretlab I've got is just awesome. It is comfortable and the back pain I had is now gone. It is amazing how much damage a bad chair can do to you. No complaints from me.

Thanks have claimed one of these. Been holding out to replace my badly aging chair that has started to kill my back for awhile now as the one I want wont ship till the 11th of next month I was hoping they would drop the prices but given whats been said I don't think that will happen for some time.

Will post my code up here once I get it which rather annoyingly given the lead time sounds like it could be awhile as they don't send the code until 2 weeks after they ship out the chair.

Hmm Himself doesn't want to spend $700-800 on a chair he can't sit in first.

We'll have a look at other recommendations.

Good to hear they dont send the code out until you've had a chance to actually recommend it to others. Would be poor form to send it to soon.

But yes, how does one demo one of the chairs?

After the last weld on my DX racer gave out around xmas, I just bought a cheapie from warehouse stationary in brown fabric in the middle and black fake leather on the sides. Its already holding up better than the dx racer. From memory it was absurdly cheap online but cost more in the store. $150 or so I think.

Anyway no back adjustment, the whole thing will tilt back a little with the lever pulled out. Same non positive locking on the lever so it can work its way out with moving foward and back in the seat like the DX racer has, and it locks even less when the lever is pushed in than the dx racer. However because I cant lean the back in it back enough I almost always have weight on the front half so its not constantly clonking back and forth like the DX racer did before it disassembled itself.

So most of the gaming chairs on the market are designed and produced in the same place.

I used to have a DX Racer chair. It was terrible.

At work they sorted out some decent ergonomic chairs and once i got one i knew i had to sort out the home situation.

Do go and look at the Knight range of chairs. You can get a really good chair for less than $300 and its seriously the most comfortable thing ever.

I had this in the office and i now have it at home.

Well, that was unexpected.

After reading these comments Himself has decided to go with Secretlab.

That's the second discount code gone, thank you @michaelmurfy.

And now for the disappointing part....

the chair has arrived damaged.

It's taken an age just to find where to make a claim about this.

Decided to go with Warranty claim.

No phone number that I can see anywhere.

Gutted gutted gutted.

I wonder what caused the damage? Was the box damaged when it arrive? I am surprise as it seems they delivered quickly as you just ordered recently but boy am gutted for you as well. Is the arm rest really that easy to break/damage?

The chair is a Titan Softweave Charcoal Blue.

There were marks and dents etc on the box, but the armrest seemed well protected, with foam around the inside of the box and and bubble wrapped.

Quite surprised it was delivered so quickly as the website indicated end of November for delivery.

I wonder if they will send you a whole replacement or just the armrest. I suggest you check everything e.g. gas lift. If it was me, I will demand a whole replacement.

The instructions say to stop assembling if you encounter an issue. So far we have put the castors on and that's it.

Will wait for further advice.

It's going to be an a$%^$ getting it all back in the box if that is required!

Did the instructions also say to check everything before starting?

Worst case just tell them you're rejecting the goods and to come and get them.
