Zaxxon... That game was revolutionary when it came out on arcades.

It was a bit of a phenomenon iirc. I even had the board game as a kid.

I think the 70s, 80s, and to a lesser degree 90s was a such revolutionary time for commodity/consumer computing.

When software required some actual engineering given the limitations of the hardware at the time.

Hardware refresh cycles didn't really become such a big thing until about the late 90s-end/turn of the century.

I have two. I think only one works fine and the other works if you whack it.

Got quite a few games and aftermarket input controllers.

I remember back in the early 80s when they used to have a Consumer Electronics show down at Trillos in Downtown Auckland. Everything from Hifi to VCRs(VHS and Beta etc)and large screen front projection TVs from Mitsubishi. Atari and the local NZ Distributor had a very large Display stand with maybe 20 or so 2600s connected to individual TVs with various games on them. I spent the whole day pretty much playing each one lol. I had the Fountain Video games system at the time at home plugged up to our family Sanyo 22" TV in the lounge haha. Good times.
