Dial111: Try a fan curve so the fans idle low and only ramp up under load
My setup is in a Corsair 5000d Airflow with 10 fans on a custom fan curve and I'm getting very minimal dust
Will have to look in to this fan curve over the weekend and see what I can do.
Wakrak:
How long was it between the last time it was clean and now?
Not sure, I like to say at least a month or so.
a month? your place must be super dusty
you need a finer filter on the front, and to change the direction of the top fan. it should fit in the back spot even with the CPU cooler there. it may just be a pain to get it in there.
The steel mesh should still catch enough dust to not cause that kind of build-up inside your case and adding another mesh may decrease airflow quite significantly. I'd see what happens once you have reversed the top fan so that it is exhausting, but equally it shouldn't cause much difference given there is a mesh at the top.
Having more intakes than exhausts should mean that it is positive pressure and dust shouldn't get in through any of the other gaps in the case. So it is a bit confusing really how it is so dusty

i have the same sized mesh on the front of my case and the filter mesh behind it gets filthy after 4-6 weeks. yes it reduces air flow but not enough to require the fans to be turned up so they are noticeable

I've reversed the fan at the top, checked it by attaching tissue paper to it to see make sure it's blowing in the correct direction.
Went into the bios and turned all the fans on silent mode.
Having issues installing the Gigabyte easy tune app to check the fan curve

Having issues installing the Gigabyte easy tune app to check the fan curve
I had the same problem with my gigabyte board, I logged a support ticket with gigabyte and they gave me links to newer software thats not on their site [in a google drive which was a bit weird] and it works now
it has a good auto tune function which keeps them silent under low loads
I can PM the links if you want
