There’s never been confirmation of OCE servers, only “Asia Pacific” which includes Japan. I played back in 2k20 and they only label the server we played on as “Asia” - If you’re able to find games late at night, it’ll definitely not be OCE.

Do you play any other multiplayer games, like COD? Do you experience this issue on other games?

Alright, if it's happening on other games and it's not isolated to 2K and now looking at your other thread, it seems to at least be happening across the PS5 interface. Do you have any other people playing games in your house that also experience this issue?

Hi Chills, my wife uses her ps5 over wifi. She hasn't had any issues. I have also changed both the ps5s over because I thought it may be a console issue. Only seems to be happening on the one that is connected to the ethernet cable.

Alright, that narrows it down to inside your property. If you've changed the ethernet cable, then I'd recommend even moving it over a port in your router.. this will more than likely do nothing as they all share the same NIC but a good sanity check. If nothing comes of that then temporarily try on Wi-Fi.

Please just keep it on the thread. We’ve provided troubleshooting advise and you need to try that first.

Hi Meow. I have tried. I will list what i have done so far.

  • hard reset ps5 in safe mode. Reinstalled all games.
  • tried on multiple different consoles
  • fully cleaned the ps5.
  • have had a new modem installed - exact same from spark.
  • have reset the settings on my monitor.
  • Cant change QOS on spark modem.
  • I dont game on PC so hard to test - SpeedTest on both PC and ps5 is showing great results with upload/download speeds.

Issue starts after about 20 mins across multiple games. My next guess is to get a new ethernet cable? Current is a cat6 but has been used for about 3 years and is probably due and upgrade.

My issue is a micro stutter while gaming that turns into small spikes. Has only just tarted about 3 days ago.

So, when you plugged your Wife's PS5 into ethernet, it was fine, however with yours, it isn't. Cat6, and 3 years is absolutely fine, at the end of the day it is just copper.

Have you tried your PS5 on Wi-Fi, I assume thats what your Wife was using when you guys switched for a bit?

have tried both ps5s on wifi and issue is still there.

Explain the "Micro Stutters"? You mean things just start freezing? Does the same game stutter on your wifes console? If not, this could be an indication of the console itself overheating.

Does this happen if you're not in an online game? Refer back to here: https://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=64&topicid=320364&page_no=1#3401362 as you need to run a test on an ethernet connected computer / laptop while you're gaming...

Hi Meow.

The micro stutters are almost like very small second long Jitter. Almost like a frame drop. - they happen every 8-10 seconds once it begins. Then it turns into every 20-30 seconds a 1 seconds lag spike. Then repeats. I ran a test before bed - used my mobile data hotspot to the ps5. Didn’t seem to have an issue.

I have run multiple speed tests while gaming. The results are always good.

here is an example for reddit of pretty much what I’m dealing with. I also have countless screen recording of this on my phone as videos but unsure how to upload them here.

also, when I share screen on ps5 my friend can also see the lag/stutter while viewing. So can’t be monitor based. Must be connection based.

haven’t tried on an offline game yet. Will do so today.

The original poster on the Reddit link you shared discovered the stuttering fault was caused by a malfunctioning power extension board or something to do with that. Have you eliminated that possibility in your setup?
