Wow that looks like a nice simple teardown. Don't think I have seen vendor's do their own teardown's pre release before.

Thats gonna p*ss a lot of you tubers off that want to be the first to teardown hahahahahah

Anybody pre-ordered the console from The Warehouse? Was there suppose to be any confirmation emails that the shipment is for launch?

There is now a list of the PS4 games that are not compatible with PS5. There are only ten games on the list (and I don't have any of them!).

Shadow Complex is a great game.  Good thing I've got the remaster on my Xbox :)

Any off chance of pre ordering ps5 now for release?

My son wants it for his birthday and he is probably over a month late in asking.

All per-orders sold out, but Xmas orders still available

Yeah I'm curious to know where as well.

I'd like to get a PS5 eventually, but looking around there is no where that's accepting any orders for a later shipment.

@maxeon, unfortunately i doubt you'll be able to get one as I've been told next shipment won't be coming till next year. I hope you manage one somehow though, maybe through people who ordered more than one and trying to make more money by selling the extra console.

Also PS4 games that are not PS5 backwards compatible are being updated to be working. so the list is getting shorter as developers are keen to get their games running on PS5

At this point, if you were thinking of getting one for Christmas, I'd think about having a robust backup plan...

It looks like the Ex-bawx is still available for December shipping though...

JB Hifi had a 2nd shipment pre-order available for a while but I can no longer find it, so either that also sold out or it maybe there is some uncertainty around next stock delivery. Eb games and Mighty Ape are usually good so keep checking there.
Good luck!

p.s. if you are desperate there is probably some pre-orders on trademe, fb marketplace, but they will be more money

I'm happy enough to wait until some time next year.  I don't play enough games to need to upgrade yet as the games I already don't play much of are all PS4.  I usually only upgrade when one of my must have games is only on the next gen console.  Previously that's been various iterations of Gran Turismo or Rock Band 4.  The next one might be Dirt Rally 3/WRC10 when that gets released by Codemasters as that'll no doubt be PS5 and not PS4.

Offhand, does anyone know if current Steering wheels etc will be plug and play with the PS5?  Like the Logitech G29 for example.

No idea on the steering wheels and peripherals - don't think there's a complete list of compatibility as yet.

You could contact Logitech. As you're not in a hurry I'm sure in the next 12 months it will become apparent what will and won't work so I wouldn't fret until you're ready to buy.

It sounds like don't really game much so not sure ps5 compatibility is something you need to worry too much about! 😂 🤣 🤙

  • Specialty peripherals, such as officially licensed racing wheels, arcade sticks, and flight sticks, will work with PS5 games and supported PS4 games.

from the backward compatibility page.
