For those who will be getting PS5 on launch day, what are your first 2 or 3 games? I'll probably be getting demon souls and spider man MM and ratchet and clank. A friend of mine is getting fifa 21 with an extra contractor as we made a deal i get the console and he gets a controller and fifa

I have pre-ordered AC Valhalla which should be here before or at the same time as the PS5.

However, when the PS5 arrives, I’ll probably still be playing MGS V: The Phantom Pain - on which I am totally hooked, even though it’s five years old. Will load Valhalla to see how it looks but likely to finish the Metal Gear on PS5 before getting into Valhalla.

Currently in the middle of a three-week holiday away from home and have PS withdrawal symptoms.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

I can one up that. My console is getting delivered on launch day. But the Christmas elves are spiriting it away, wrapping it up, and putting it under the tree, not to be touched until December 25th.

May have to get adept at unwrapping, unboxing, re-boxing and re-wrapping. :-D

But it would only be prudent to make sure everything is in the box, and that it works properly, and that all the necessary updates and upgrades are installed, and that the controllers work! Think of how disappointed the children would be if they unwrapped it at xmas and it didn't go, or there were bits missing, or they couldn't play it for 6 hours while everything downloaded...

It's worked for me more than once. I can't quite tell if Mrs MDF humours me or actually believes my flim flam.

Diligent prudence would be to check it as @mdf says - but check it thoroughly - like for 3-4 hours a day between now and Christmas. That way you can be really sure it’s going to be good and reliable on the day.

It's important to thoroughly burn in the ICs otherwise the flux capacitors could rupture.

Yeah I get a lot of eye rolls from Mrs Handle.

I AM "the children". So I'm not sure that'll fly in my case :-D

Nice, I'll probably also be playing MGS5 as i haven't checked it out yet. I'll also play ghost of tsushima on PS5 as i won't be able to finish it in 3 weeks for the PS5 a I'll be giving my ps4 pro away

Coloured faceplates

If you don’t mind relinquishing the white originals, it would be a simple matter to change the colour with a $10 can of spray paint from Bunnings. A lot cheaper than about NZ$70 for these third-party jobs where there is, as yet, no guarantee that they will fit properly.

Not quite as simple, but you could get some coloured wrap from a car wrapping place and change the panels’ colour that way - and that would be able to be taken off so that the originals aren’t wrecked.

First time I tried it told me that I had messed up my quotes so I removed one and it worked. Never got this editor on here but was just happy to have the post accepted. Looks like it appended quote onto the link.
