simple logic.
Geektastic: Ok. Not especially sure I am falling either way.
Here's a few other things based on reading the replies to help narrow down things:
1) We have only Apple gear in the house, no PC's at all. There are some games for them but usually not the latest.
2) It won't be connected to a Home Theatre - we don't have one
3) It won't be doing Netflix etc coz Apple TV does that

joker97: having said that, I bought a game released jan 2014. PS3. you know what? Today I was at home and thought what the heck let's update it ... started at 9am. It's still updating!
And it has an SSD installed!
So at this stage I'm thinking, ... if PS4 is going to do that ... would I buy one ... hmm ...

I find my PS3's take a while for game updates, but what game are you trying to update that is taking that long? Also, wired or wireless?
And the PS4 is a lot faster on all downloads compared to the PS3
