Preordered as soon as I could. Ordered the PS4 ultimate thing as well as some box that was also available.

Preordered the special edition from mighty ape, looking forward to spending those warm nights, sitting in the lounge after the rest of the whanau has gone to bed and jamming rdr2 in front of the air conditioning unit.... will be good.

800 hours over 2 years for GTA5, I'll be waiting for its PC release, not a console fan and would rather not buy one just to play the game earlier. Plus PC release will have better graphics im sure.

Could be a later release for PC.  Can't see why they'd neuter a segment of their money making market.  Lots of games these days are platform exclusive for launch but end up coming out later on other platforms - unless they're from Sony or Microsoft studios of course.

eracode: Used to play on PC - now PS. I’m very selective and now buy about one game a year (or less). We got our first PC when our son was about seven - 25 years ago - and we played a LOT of games. What freaks me now is that I have probably bought approaching 150 games over that period - at say $100 each - that’s nearly $15k! Jeepers.

Put it this way, I know people who have spent more than that over a couple of years on alcohol, so in my view your investment was far more worthwhile than theirs.

Thanks - that makes me feel better. But I don’t want to think what I’ve spent on grog 😕

Many people here may cringe but when I buy an A-list game like RDR2, I like to get the fullest experience and value from it - so I often buy the official guide-book at the same time.

This is not so that I can ‘cheat’ - because I don’t - but I like to see, for example, the features/stats of weapons, or where the treasures (or stunt-jumps, etc) are hidden after I’ve finished and not got them all, and the maps are often good and helpful. Or sometimes I will miss triggering an important side mission. A lot of this stuff may be available in-game or on the ‘net but I like the books.

Accordingly I have just ordered the hardback RDR2 guide-book from Amazon. When you add the shipping cost, this is not cheap - but it adds depth to the game for me. I’d rather get the standard game + guide than spend the extra on the Collector’s Edition of the game. Call me a tragic - my son does - thinks I’m nuts.

Whilst it's not something I'd likely purchase, it's your game, your gaming experience and so long as you are having fun, have at it says I.

I hope it's "story huge" and not "busy work" huge.
