I could only get to the load screen, forced updating windows to version 2004 is what got it working for me
Yeah, I already have 2004. I still don't have a working FS, though I have more than enough on my hands without it I guess. :(
if you wish just to t ry out the standard copy of this game you can obtain the xbox game pass for PC for only $1 at the moment.

Yesterday, I paid $1 for an Xbox Game Pass and downloaded the installer from Microsoft Store, then spent rest of the day trying to get past “Press Any Key" to download MFS2020. Wasn’t until late afternoon that I read a hint that I needed the Xbox Beta app, which I downloaded from MS Store and started the installer from within the app. Bingo, a couple of hours later I had MFS2020 installed! Have spent time today trying to configure my Saitek X52 Pro and have found the GUI unfriendly and definitely clunky. I am a simmer not a gamer and I have yet to sort out the configuration such that the aeroplane flies with some reality and does not leap around the skies like a demented porpoise! I will spend a little more time on the configuration, but I am glad I only paid $1 and tomorrow I will be back on Xplane, to leave MFS2020 to mature for a few more months/years.
For those who might still be crashing, try installing English US language as a secondary language.
Been playing this a fair bit recently.
Getting 45fps @ 1080p on a Ryzen 5 2600X + Radeon 5700xt - completely playable at that frame rate.
Just using an Xbox controller and keyboard and works perfectly well, you just need to tweak some controls. HOTAS would definitely give more control though.
Controllwer is great for the bigger jets, but the small prop planes (cessnas etc) are a bit twitchy, you would probably need to change sensitivity if using an xbox controller.
After 4 attempts it finally installed! lol. Updating Windows 10 to 2004 and installing it to my SSD seemed to help. I kinda think installing it to the ssd is what fixed it perhaps my hard drive just couldn't keep up with the constant read/write/decompressing game files during the install. But also kinda wondering if the load on their servers had finally calmed down a bit after the launch hype allowing me to finally install it.

Anyone playing on GTX1060 6GB? What does it look like?
It's a bit of a dilemma. Spend the money on something like 2060 or buy the XSX (assuming MSFS2020 will be available at launch).
Accessories are a real pain on Xbox though, and playing MSFS with thumbsticks is an abomination. :)

I would expect keyboard and mouse to be supported using Xbox series X. No confirmation, but, support is up to the developers, and, I can't see MSFS2020 deciding not to support them.
As for flight sticks etc, I'm sure that someone will be looking at making money by creating them.
Does anyone have Vipril or VKB sticks?

I tried it with a controller this morning its honestly not bad. You still need a keyboard for some other inputs. Its not 100% playable with just a controller but it streamlines it enough for the casuals that it wont interfere with the experience too much. If I can get playable fps on ultra with a 1080 id expect a 1060 to be able to do at least medium settings. Which still look great btw.

I can't imagine landing a 787 with a controller. It would be fairly terrifying as a passenger.

Runs ok at medium at 1080p

They should make it an in-game feature. If you're landing a passenger jet with a controller, cue in screams of horror from the passengers.
