You’ll want to undervolt that 14700kf given the recent news about Intel CPU’s degrading.

https://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/intel-communication-failure/

And no, gaming pc’s don’t generally draw 500W internally, it’s only recently because Intel 13/14th gen CPU’s can boost to 250W by themselves. A normal mid-range PC should be around 300W or less in gaming. Heck a base rtx 4090 is 450W and thats top of the line.

Those are reports about the 900 series, correct? I am not affected.

Reports are floating around of the entire line of both gens being affected due to excessive voltage being pushed. The baseline profile Intel released doesn’t change this, just power limits.

I've read it's only the 9 series.  5 and 7 are OK.  But considering Intel is still ostriching, it's all a bit nebulous and anecdotal still.

Also have you opened it up and actually cleaned the filters in the last year? That is something everyone should be doing. Yes yearly open up the pc and remove all the dust accumulation.

Any tips for clearing out the dust? I have a new gaming PC (few months old) and want to keep it in good shape! My old PC, I only cleaned it out sporadically, and not very well, with a vacuum cleaner, small paintbrush etc. but still had dust left behind.

Yeah, on the floor, on carpet :)

I got something like this from The Warehouse to put my new gaming PC on, so it's not sitting on the carpet under my desk.
