xpd: Exactly... we said to the guy "off to TradeMe we go then"...he gave us a funny look....

ANyway, getting back on topic... who should be at work but is at home playing RDR ? ;)

Haha I would of said more then that - I would of called the guy a dreamer if he only offered me a dollar.

I had a similar story with EB games with a friend of mine - he got Forza 2 on Xbox 360 for Xmas one year but he already had it before hand, so he thought he would go down to EB games and get abit of cash as ya do.  The game was brand new and still in it's plastic seal.  Now I kid you not, what happened next was an absolute joke -  I was standing right next to my mate in the store and the guy behind the counter said "2 bucks mate".  I can not understand how he managed to keep a straight face and actually think we would hand over a BRAND new game for that price - plus it only just recently came out!  I said to the guy at EB you gotta be kidding us right?  He told me and my mate "no - we have too many copies of this game in our store and that's all we can offer I'm afraid".

We ended up leaving and my mate kept Forza 2 as a spare copy - but for the love of cheese 2 bucks for a brand new game is an insult.  I'm sure that the manual in the case would cost more than that to make..

Even if they give you $2 for it, what are they meant to do with it if they can't sell it?  They're out $2.  If they try to sell it for $100 (for example), they are basically saying there's a 2% chance of them selling it (ignoring expenses/profit margin).  That might be fair enough.  If you think you can do better, you should put it on trademe as xpd has done.  EB is not a charity.

Mate at that price they shouldn't even have a flippin sign saying trade 'n' save?  It's ridiculous.

And also, my mate was prepared to buy a game off EB but for a $2 trade in that's just stupid.

Agreed, no one would trade it in for that price, but then they don't really want you to.  It's not as if they are only offering $2 on all games.  Do you expect them to give you $30 and then have it sitting on a shelf forever?  Same with the PS2, how many second hand PS2s do they have in those places?  It's just not worth any more to them than that.  You can't blame them.  In the end, trading at places like that is probably not worth it, it's just one more guy clipping the ticket on the way through.  Much better to sell directly on trademe, probably.

Yeah I agree with you there bazzer - I guess that's just the way it is today with trading so trade me would probably be the way forward.

How much are you selling as a package?  And if you were to sell sep - I am definitely keen to buy GT4, LOTR: Two Towers and all of the burnouts.

Few people watching it at the moment... but if dosent sell sure I can offer GZers good price or split it as needed Tongue out Price may seem high at the moment, but its TradeMe - someone may take it Smile

Enough of my PS2 stuff and EB...lets get back on topic Laughing

Can report back the multiplayer on PS3 and single game is awesome!!!!

I've been dueling with others, basically 8 person quickdraw(still not enough players for 16 draw, I've only got 2 people in my posse)

You can shoot: people walking round, other players, goats, wolves, pigs, cows and plenty or other things. Yuo can also do missions in a posse, liek stealing gold or killing a gang. or by yourself. Few multiplayer levels, free for all, team deathmatches and things. Really liking the mission based games more though

I have moved across the ditch.  Now residing in Melbourne as a VOIP/Video Technical Trainer/Engineer.

My mate bought Red Dead Redemption on friday and brung it round to my house that night - I have to say this game is absolutely stunning. The landscape is just gorgeous, the desert never looked so good, and the wildlife is very detailed in the way they react/respond to you and the enviroment. At one point I grabbed my hoarse and went riding in to the wilderness, what happened next I have never seen in a video game before - I woke up a mountain lion sleeping in some grass. It sprinted towards me, pounced and ripped me off my hoarse in about 2 seconds - I was near a steep cliff at the time so me and my hoarse ended up having a huge tumble down this cliff (the physics in this game are sick!) next thing my hoarse smacked into a rock instantly killing it and I remained to roll down this hill. Once I got to my feet it wasn't over, the mountain lion had been pursuing me the whole time - I couldn't pull my shotty out quick enough and by then it was too late.

All in all this game is a very high achiever and alot of work has gone in to making it :)
