bazzer:cgrew:xpd: Exactly... we said to the guy "off to TradeMe we go then"...he gave us a funny look....
ANyway, getting back on topic... who should be at work but is at home playing RDR ? ;)
Haha I would of said more then that - I would of called the guy a dreamer if he only offered me a dollar.
I had a similar story with EB games with a friend of mine - he got Forza 2 on Xbox 360 for Xmas one year but he already had it before hand, so he thought he would go down to EB games and get abit of cash as ya do. The game was brand new and still in it's plastic seal. Now I kid you not, what happened next was an absolute joke - I was standing right next to my mate in the store and the guy behind the counter said "2 bucks mate". I can not understand how he managed to keep a straight face and actually think we would hand over a BRAND new game for that price - plus it only just recently came out! I said to the guy at EB you gotta be kidding us right? He told me and my mate "no - we have too many copies of this game in our store and that's all we can offer I'm afraid".
We ended up leaving and my mate kept Forza 2 as a spare copy - but for the love of cheese 2 bucks for a brand new game is an insult. I'm sure that the manual in the case would cost more than that to make..
Even if they give you $2 for it, what are they meant to do with it if they can't sell it? They're out $2. If they try to sell it for $100 (for example), they are basically saying there's a 2% chance of them selling it (ignoring expenses/profit margin). That might be fair enough. If you think you can do better, you should put it on trademe as xpd has done. EB is not a charity.
Mate at that price they shouldn't even have a flippin sign saying trade 'n' save? It's ridiculous.
