I agree that for people who are very focused (ie follow the main-story line only) the game might end too quickly, but I just don't think that's the way most people would play it.
I also think there is huge replayability in this game, (ie. evil character)

Nothing terrible has happened to my system after installing fallout 3 (or the mountain of other games that have far more invasive securom based protection)
I don't like or agree with it (securom) but I wish people could get as passionate and outraged about other issues in life as they do about copyprotection methods.

Lol you wait. Sooner or later it will break. Statistics show that most computers broken by securom develop symptoms and break within the first hundred years after it is installed :P. Nahr I do not know if it is securom or if it is just coicadince or only affects a computer with certain dodgey hardware in. But i still would not trust it. I mean most of the companys running securom are so evil and if it doesnt break computers with pirated copys or all pcs then I would not be surprised if it tracks our usage of the computer and sends it to a evil usage tracking group. Yer i just do not trust things that are so untranclucent. I mean if their was nothing to hide about securom then why not tell people it is going to be installed. And why bother. I mean if someone wishes to load the disc you used to distribute the content they legitamitly purchased onto their pc by ripping it to a iso file then shouldn't they be able to do that. I mean if storing and looking after a disc is impractical then shouldnt the custermours be aloud to do that. And why then would they want to force you to have a physical disc. That securoom and drm reaks of foul play and evil corporate goals
I'm hearing a lot about major bugs (e.g. see the wiki). My brother-in-law (on PS3) found a game-breaker bug in the final mission core story line which meant no way to finish. He raised it with Bethesda and has received sod all feedback from them. He's heard of other game-breaker bugs out there as well - on all platforms or platform-specific. Weird thing is that not everyone encounters them.

Can ps3 games be patched like computer games and software that have updates fixing bugs? Because not being able to finish the game doesnt sound very good.
To be honest, If I were you, I wouldn't bother with Gears of War (1 or 2) because if you didn't like it the first time, I can't see why you would suddenly start liking it now. I'm certainly not going to give you any guarantees, I'm only speaking my own opinion of the game, which is that I think it is brilliant, and that GOW2 is likely to be even better.
On the other hand, if you haven't played much in the way of RPG's, Fallout 3 is probably a great place to start. If it turns out you don't like it, then it is probably safe to say you simply don't like that whole genre.
Okay well today i reinstalled GoW and retried it, its better than the first time however i stand by what i saw that it doesnt reward for good aim or accurate shots, it seems you have to unload half a clip on each enemies head before they die. This is playing on the PC rather than 360, where it would obviously be harder to aim, but you'd think they would adapt it a bit more to PC play? So trying to think positively, i'm waiting on a gun which will have a cross as my crosshair and i can nail headshots, hope this comes sometime soon.
Playing through fallout3, seems a bit tedius at times so i've taken a break from it for now, hence why i reinstalled GoW.
