Correct. I have just received this short statement:

"We are sorry to say that Gran Turismo 5 will not be available on the previously announced release date of November 4th, but the game will be released before Christmas. We sincerely apologise to GT fans for the delay, however creator Kazunori Yamauchi and the team at Polyphony Digital want to make certain they are creating a racing experience of the highest quality. We are confident that this ambitious game will exceed expectations when it launches later this year. We'll have more information for you in the near future."

This could well mean my gaming allowance goes on (dare I say it) Call of Duty: Black Ops instead :)

Noooooooo!

Actually it's not that bad I guess, this will allow me time to save the $ as Gavin said but I will no doubt be getting Call of Duty: Black Ops in November.

Medal of Honor on the other hand has been given terrible reviews so far, I had high hopes for this game but it looks like EA should really stick to WWII shooters instead..

vinnieg: Oh well, it's been delayed again :(

it's expected some time before Christmas, but I remember my thread from last year for it round this exact time. Really not expecting Polyphonics to ever release it, it'll turn into another Duke Nukem Forever

Why they don't just release it and have dlc & patches for all the extra stuff (they could have made a fortune on all the dlc) - otherwise it will never be released

The official email from MightyApe said...

"Just letting you know that our suppliers have advised us today that the estimated New Zealand release date for Gran Turismo 5 ~ PS3 has changed from 04/11/2010 to 20/12/2010 today. Please note: As this is an estimated date only, it is subject to change."

And the product page still says Nov 4th.

Lets hope this is Mighty Ape's way of saying "worst case scenario".
Both references are saying 'estimated date' of course.

That's a bit ridiculous, it's still coming out this year. Will be the best game this year..

Ahhh, that sheds a bit more light on the situation. Thanks for that.
Let's hope Polyphony Digital has some influence with the Blu-Ray production facility and squeezes the GT5 production in ASAP once they go Gold Master... again. Wink
