How many more PS5's do you think they would need in the country to meet current demand?

Reading this thread it sounds like there are still a lot of people looking to buy one.

Benjip:

What I don't get is why we can't just place a pre-order with a "when it arrives, you'll get it" clause. It's frustrating not being able to secure a unit unless you happen to be browsing a retail website at the exact minute they go on (and subsequently off) sale.

Surely retailers would prefer to lock in an order now and then just ship out each unit as it arrives to their distribution centre?

This is my issue in a nutshell. Let me give you $200 (or whatever dollar value you require) and you give me a ticket with a number on it and I'll wait until my number is called. When my number is called I will come and collect and pay the rest and I will be happy. If I don't/wont/can't pay, pass it on to the next person in the list.

You could always buy one from a local parallel importer at scalpers prices who have a very valid reason to hike the prices unlike NL, JB etc who are keeping prices at MSRP.

Both the Sony store and JBHiFi today said probably mid-late March, but I think they were probably just guessing. Is there anywhere that will still let you pre-order?

From my contacts at both NL and HN, I'd say about 5,000 to 10,000 units should clear everyone that wants one now or within the next 2 months.

This is a bit of a strange question, but has anyone else found that their PS5 controller seems to attract flies? Or maybe something's rubbed off my hands, but I tend to keep them fairly clean...

JB Hifi are going to have online orders tomorrow (04/02) from 9am to 10am. 300 units only.

EDIT: I would strongly recommend pre-making an account and pre-filling as much details now to speed up your checkout.
