(half-serious) if I catch any of you buying consoles to sell I will ban you and ensure you never return here.

I am so sick of scalpers. Been attempting to get a PS5 since launch but keep missing out then with each drop I see more for sale on Trademe...

Agreed - Same here! - Really annoyed to see that happening with no attempt to police or restrict those undesirables.

Wakrak: In stock at Mighty Ape

Argh when I checked they didn’t have any :(

My son is hanging out for one so patiently would love to surprise him with one this weekend.

I’ve signed up to a bunch of sites over the months to get notified but haven’t received a single email

Has anyone received anything for this weekend they could share?

I got one by signing up to a messaging bot through the telegram app (link is in one of the reddit ps5 threads)
Never received an in stock notification from any website but signed up to them all.
The bot worked well, just sent a txt notification that popped up on phone when it came in stock.

@swirl Sounds interesting - mind linking us to the site you used?

I've been manually tracking most days but this is a lost cause with the amount of scalpers there are buying them for a quick buck.

So what was the final conclusion around digital vs full PS5? I'll be buying a PS5 in the next couple of months. I'm leaning towards the full version just for backwards compatibility and I always seem to regret buying a slightly crippled machine.

I bought the full version because I like to have the option of on-selling a disc once I’ve completed a game - and I often buy second-hand games on TM (not so easy for you) which can also be on-sold. Just wouldn’t feel comfortable with the crippled machine.

Also the PS5 is the only means in our household by which we can play any disc. I have a collection of BR music videos - but to be honest I’ve HD ripped them all, both as albums and separate tracks (but seldom watch the copies) - and haven’t played the physical discs in at least six years. But it’s nice to know we can.

Occasionally I borrow discs from Auckland Public Library. Did this few months ago to watch Ewan McGregor’s and Charley Boorman’s Long Way Round and Long Way Down motorbike touring docos series - before I found out I could have watched them on ATV+.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

Disc version for sure, I'm not one who replays games or wants a collection so buying a single player game and finishing it then on selling makes sense.

Just take a look at how cheap some AAA ps4 games are now in physical (but not online)

I can only find the one that does it for Amazon. Can you share the link for the one in Nz?

Same here - once I finish a game, most times I sell it straight away. I don't mind paying say $120 for a new AAA game disc (even if it's a bit dearer than downloading from Sony) if I can sell it for $80 on TM a couple of months later.

However sometimes there are great discounted bargains on older games on PS Store - so I never totally rule out downloading.

Well my PSVR camera adaptor finally arrived today.

It had a post date of 10th December so it took nearly 4 months to get here.

I didn't believe it was going to arrive and had even contacted PlayStation support about it and I got an email from them saying there was delays.

To be honest when I got that email I was pretty annoyed as I didn't believe it would turn up after all this time.

I guess I was wrong.

I wonder if it was to be ordered now if it would arrive much faster.

Yes. Had a page scanner running looking for stock changes on the main suppliers which alerted me to this stock within 10 minutes.

Managed to get two orders in so my wife and I will not be fighting over who gets one first! :)

And... Now out of stock!
