Knowing the story of the first will be helpful given this one seems to pick up almost straight after, and includes a number of the same characters/story beats.  Thankfully there's plenty of recap videos on YouTube that take you through the story in about 20 minutes.  I'm glad I did, I forgot almost all of it!

Good thinking Batman! On my list for Friday prior to playing.

I have always intended to get Cyberpunk 2077 but was waiting for the re-done version to come out. Just saw this - the re-do upgrade is going to be free for owners of the original release. So I have just now ordered the original from JB - happy with the price at $39. May take a while to get to me but that’s OK.

Now I have a dilemma. I have Horizon Forbidden West supposedly arriving on Friday - and have just seen that the PS5 upgrade of Cyberpunk 2077 has been released. I bought the original of CP77 last year, knowing that the upgrade was going to be free. I hadn't installed it - waiting for the upgrade.

I really don't like playing two games concurrently - so not sure what to do. Life is so difficult.

Just unwrapped CP77 and put it in the PS5 to copy and download. I have a couple of days with CP77 before HFW arrives, to work out what to do - but I think I know what will happen. 😀 Either way, I think I have my next few months of gaming sorted.

Forbidden West is a safer bet for me. I am anxious about the PS5 update for CP77, based on everything until now, I think it won't be stable till a month after the update, I'll wait for re-reviews.

I can't recall being more excited for a game as I am for Forbidden West since Forza 5 (which has been quite the mixed bag).

@gehenna Any particular YT'r you rate for that? I like PlayStation grenade generally, but their video is 4 years old now, I am unsure it matters since the story hasn't changed,...

Just saw about the Cyberpunk 1.5 update! (it feels weird writing CP...) Looks pretty chunky and looking forward to getting into it, since I stalled on my first playthrough due to lack of time and figured I would just have a complete fresh start with the next-gen update.

I have a similar problem; I finished Control Ultimate edition in December (truly an awesome game, Remedy really nailed it) and since then, hadn't really found anything to keep my interest... The Ascent was pretty, but the story wasn't terribly engaging and the twin stick thing didn't work well for me on Xbox I found... Halo:Infinite didn't grab my attention either TBH and didn't really stun me as a "next-gen showcase"... pretty much had been just killing time for the Cyberpunk next-gen update.

Now, after I was recently gifted Resident Evil Village, which I'd been really excited to get into, they finally drop this on me! And to boot, the feedback for Dying Light 2 looks great, so that will undoubtedly be my next purchase. Something about droughts and floods...

Oh well, at my current play-rate, I'll be sorted well into next year!

Geektastic: I'll agree that Valhalla has no rights to call itself Assassin's Creed.

That aspect of it was just a thin veneer for marketing.

Agreed, finally finished the main campaign got Mjolinr and am making my way through the Francia DLC so obtaining the hammer wasn't a waste of time.

As mentioned, I bought the disc version of CP77 but didn't do anything with it until the update was here. The install took about two hours yesterday and when I looked at the details it said v.1.51 - I was a bit confused but thought that was the whole PS5 shebang.

Started playing and it looked sort of OK but not brilliant. Looked for the 'performance v. resolution' and ray-tracing settings that I believed it should have, and nothing there (PS4 doesn't get those). So I then realised that the PS5 upgrade still needed to be downloaded - obvious, I know.

Have done that and played a couple of hours. Graphically it looks totally stunning - 4K and crisp. As for gameplay and whether there's still any glitches, don't know yet - but so far so good.

I don't really have one, just pick one that looks watchable.  There were a couple of mainstream game media videos I saw around the 15-20 min mark that covered everything well.

Just finished Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2.

Enjoyed it a lot. Need more DLC!

I can't shake off the feeling that the first one was better though.

So, I ordered Cyberpunk 2077 on Amazon AU for $30 a few days ago after hearing about the upgrade. In the meantime I installed the PS5 Trial version which lets you play for 5hrs. I am a few hours in and playing in Quality graphics mode. I thought I would hate 30fps but so far it's actually been fine. It's not a twitch shooter so you don't need super fast reflexes or framerate. Looks really good though and quite enjoying it.

^^ That not-needing reflex thing is why I think I’m going to like it too - twitch reflexes are not necessarily my strong point. After playing for a few hours and reading up on ‘things to know before you play’, I’ve seen that it’s possible to play parts of it with an emphasis on stealth. You can allocate points to develop your skills to enhance stealth performance. I like the sound of that.

Ugh can't find my Cyberpunk Game Disk PS4, I assume it needs to be in to do the update?
