Here's hoping that all of those scalpers on TradeMe get stuck with multiple machines that they have to sell on at a loss
The Warehouse had them in stock earlier today - online only
All comments are my own opinion, and not that of my employer unless explicitly stated.
The disc version I ordered has arrived. I'll leave it boxed up. I've asked my staff if any of them want it, in the meantime if any Geekzoner's want it then PM me. You can have it for cost+courier ($840ish all up)
Just saw this. It's not really of interest to me but I believe there's some GZers who are interested:

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.
Yeah, I saw that, but at $450-600 for an upgrade disk, that makes the whole scenario pretty expensive.
I've had no issues coping with the on board storage. I used to be a game hoarder and like to keep everything on there but now I only have 4-5 games on the go at any one time. That combined with Gigabit internet to download games when I want them, I really haven't been wanting for more storage. I'm not a heavy gamer however.

I bought a External USB 3.2 1TB HDD and have it storing my PS4 games, given the small number of PS5 native games, it's not been quite the issue it was initially, and at $500 I will continue to try and manage my storage instead of stumping.
Aussies are getting lightly screwed with a new model PS5:

Given that we are basically an adjunct to Oz for a lot of this sort of stuff, I'm guessing this model will be here too.

The 300 gram weight difference came from a lack of GPU :) (I'm kidding).
It's a pity they didn't make a change so that the base screw, which is used only in vertical orientation, could also be used for horizontal. As it is now, when horizontal, there's no screw - the base just sort of clips on (actually it just sits there) - then becomes dislodged whenever you move the unit slightly.

I expect I am missing something but..who cares what weight a game console is aside from the people shipping it? The end user would find that utterly irrelevant I would think.

The physical size, as opposed to the weight, is more of an issue for me, though weight is a factor. I do often take my console away with me when I travel for longer times.
with lack of info from Sony on it, would be interesting to see if there are in fact any compromises, 300 grams is pretty decent reduction for an electronic device..
Makes me think back to the PS3, the original version was full fat and feature rich.. then subsequent releases were trimmed down models, less features..

Everytime I go to dust and pick it up a little bit, it just pops out of the base and tries to slide out of the TV stand. 😲 It feels like the only thing stopping it from coming right out is the cables in the back.

I think there is a lesson there. Don't dust.
