I've been playing around with the PS3 browser (latest firmware v4.31)

Flash sites like Vimeo aren't working. I get the usual sort of webpage saying your browser does not support flash, download/update it here.

The Playstation website on the 4th dec says:

"With system software version 2.50 and later, support for Adobe? Flash? Player 9 has been added to (Internet Browser) on the PlayStation 3.

You do not need to turn this setting on for the Flash Player to work. If you visit a website that has flash content, you will see a message on the PS3 Internet Browser that states "Do you want to run the plugin?", highlight "Yes" and press the button. This will allow the flash content to play."

Full page here http://support.us.playstation.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1230

Trouble is I don't get a message. I've tried resetting all system settings to default as per their suggestion on the same page, but still no message, still no flash content.

The sites are possibly testing for Flash 11, the latest version. The PS3 is a full two versions behind the latest version of Flash.

You can probably restore prompt by deleting your browser history (within browser, press Triangle and select History from menu, then press Triangle again and select Delete All and Yes to confirm). Assuming the prompt reappears, you'll notice it now has an "Do Not Display Again" option, which you most likely enabled and selected "No" for prompt (to disable Flash adverts?).

Thanks for that, I'll give it a go. This the first time I've used the browser, so I'm sure I've never had the message...

Does anyone know a flash website that works for them on the PS3 4.31? Does Vimeo work for you guys?

Prompt is normally displayed for Vimeo video pages, however, it requires a later version of Flash and Sony will not be updating it (there's a small chance Sony will add HTML 5 video support (appears to be supported by Vimeo), but I wouldn't put money on it)... As indicated by Kyanar, a good deal of sites require a later version of Flash for videos, but by no means all, e.g. YouTube works.
