Has anyone else seen this on Kickstarter? http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1944625487/omni-move-naturally-in-your-favorite-game

Fantastic idea! Pair that with the Rift headset and I'll have something I dreamed of back in the 90's. And while it'll be heavy to ship, I see they're paying to ship to continents. If there's enough NZ orders to fill a container the shipping cost from somewhere in NZ should be quite reasonable.

By the way I have nothing to do with the project except that I made an order myself.

Yeah it certainly beats the giant treadmill style systems I imagined virtual reality would have to use before. In total apparently it's close to 50kg at present, which I couldn't call easy to move haha. But the pieces come apart to store away just like exercise equipment.

I can't wait to try the Rift and with the omni it'd be even better.

You could almost see a mini arcade revival using this tech, it'd be great to play this with a bunch of mates all yelling LOL

Yeah :) And shipping to Australia is $100 - $200, which considering the weight and size is pretty good. Hopefully enough NZ'ers order it so we can get the same price.
