Apparently upgrading your PS3 firmware to the latest 4.45 release, can brick your system.

So hold off until further notice…

I always chuckle a little at how angry some gamers can get, I love my games but I dont actually get angry when something doesn't work I go have a beer. and watch a movie or go do something else.

It's getting concerning how tethered some people are to thier majick game box.

I think people have legitimate cause to be upset when an update turns your expensive device into a useless brick. I use my ps3 as a media server so it would be a considerable annoyance if it were to die.

My ps3 did the update and it was fine I don't think anyone knows what the trigger is for this issue at least I can keep playing last of us haha

Some people are saying it's affecting those who have upgraded their HDD's 500gb or bigger. Do you fall into that category?

I'm using a 12gb super slim that I have put a 500GB HDD in update went smooth as

I'm using a 320GB PS3 and updated it before seeing the news about the bricking. Mine is unaffected though.
