Hi all,

Hoping someone could help me with this. So I got the discs to install and when I tried installing, it prompted me to install Origin. I have Origin on my PC already (I played BF3 but it was a while ago).
So I ran Origin and updated it and nothing else happened. I ran the disc again, got to the first page, clicked on "Continue" but nothing happened. I restarted my PC, same thing.

I don't know why the game wouldn't recognise Origin on my PC to begin with but it might have to do with the fact that I have an SSD and another hard drive. I have my Origin installed on the normal hard drive and perhaps the game only looked on the C: drive (the SSD)?

At any rate, now I'm stuck. I can't run the installation program. Every time I hit Continue, nothing happens.

Any ideas?

Thanks heaps!

Do you have a generous broadband allowance? I wonder if you can just redeem the product code/license key through Origin and do a digital download.

Well downloading it from Origin is a bad idea. My estimated download time was 3 days because of its crappy software not picking up local akamai servers.

Do you still have BF3 on the computer? If so does it run fine?
If so then go into origin and see if it gives you any options to uninstall BF4.

If you're going the download route I would suggest finding one of those illegal cracked copies of BF4 which you can torrent and install the game using that but just skip the step where you install the crack. (and no its not illegal for you to download/use it because you've already purchased a legal copy of the game.)

Look on Disk one. The Origin install is in one of the dirs. Run that.

Then you have the joy of trying to install the plug in for the browser. (Why does it need 15 instances of chrome running!!!)

Don't get too excited, the game crashes all the time.

This is the 2nd game i have got that is bugged. Arma3 has an issue with their anti cheat system crashing, so you cant join any on line games that use the anti cheat.

You would think they would test them a little more thoroughly.

I heard that there was problems around this and the recommended solution was to uninstall Origin and reinstall it.

i didn't have this problem, but based off steam's software, you could try starting the internet download and wait till like 2% then copy game files from CD to the install folder you online download created. then relaunch origin or verify game files (if that option is there)

Its a 25GB download from Origin btw.

Spidey if you're in Auckland hit me up...  we can do a HDD transfer.

You can verify the data on Origin after moving the data across to your desktop.
